Biography
Dr. William Foulsham earned his medical degree from the University of Glasgow and his PhD from University College of London. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in ocular immunology at the Schepens Eye Research Institute at Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College, where he was awarded the Resident Research Award and the Will Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council Distinguished Housestaff Award. Dr. Foulsham completed his two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, where he was awarded a Heed Fellowship as well as the Robert Brockhurst Academic Development Award.
Dr. Foulsham specializes in the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and performs surgery for a range of conditions including retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, and macular holes. His research interests include ocular immunology, retinal surgery, and advanced imaging techniques. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to multiple book chapters in the field of ophthalmology.
