Upper Eyelid Lift (Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty)

Li Wei Lin Treating a Patient

Drooping or sagging eyelids often cause the appearance of being older, tired, or sad. For many patients, the cause for this is from excess upper eyelid skin (dermatochalasis) that may weigh down the eyelid or be cosmetically unpleasing. Some patients may also have pronounced fat pockets that are normally present in the eye socket, but that protrude forward into the upper eyelid space, creating a puffy appearance around the eyes. The removal of this excess skin and bulging fat (upper eyelid blepharoplasty) helps to rejuvenate the face and restores a more youthful appearance.

Brow Lift

The position of the eyebrow contributes heavily to the appearance of the face as well as the position of the eyelid and eyelid skin. Drooping of the eyebrows (brow ptosis) is one of the frequent causes of a saddened or tired appearance. Drooping of the eyebrows often co-exists with dermatochalasis and can often exaggerate its severity. Mild to moderate elevation of the brow can be achieved at the time of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with the placement of additional internal elevation sutures, resulting in a beautiful, natural-appearing brow lift.

Lower Eyelid Lift (Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty)

Similar to the upper eyelids, the appearance of the aging lower eyelids can contribute to poor facial aesthetics. With age, the lower eyelids may develop wrinkles and sagging, as well as protrusion of the natural eye socket fat into the lower eyelid space, creating the appearance of significant puffiness around the eyes. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty removes the bulging fat and any excess skin that may be present, helping to reduce the wrinkles and puffiness. This helps to restore a more energetic and youthful appearance.
