Biography
Dr. Alice Tao is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery as well as the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
She graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After college, she moved to New York to complete her medical training. She received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and then completed ophthalmology residency at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. She went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at Yale University.
Dr. Tao treats a wide range of glaucoma conditions including primary open angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma, neovascular glaucoma, and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma. She performs the full spectrum of glaucoma treatments including laser procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and traditional incisional glaucoma surgery. She also provides comprehensive care for a variety of eye conditions including cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration.
She values building strong relationships with her patients and believes that education is an important part of care. She prioritizes each patient’s individual needs to provide compassionate treatment informed by the latest advances in ophthalmology.
Dr. Tao speaks Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. She is accepting new patients in the Concord and Westford offices of Lexington Eye Associates.
